There’s a lot of talk about diversity and inclusion at tech conferences. Learn the skills necessary to take the stage and land more speaking gigs.

This workshop will cover how to get more comfortable speaking in public, ways to get more speaking opportunities, and tips for creating more effective and interesting presentations. We’ll conclude with an interactive exercise where you can practice your public speaking skills.

Instructor:

usMallory Whitfield has years of experience on the stage, with a background in theatre, drag performance art, and public speaking. She has spoken at a number of local and national events including New Orleans Entrepreneur Week, WordCamp NOLA, iRetreat Conference, Alt Summit, and Craftcation. She has worked with hundreds of artists and creatives over the past decade through her company, Miss Malaprop. By day, she specializes in SEO, social media, and content marketing as Content Analyst at FSC Interactive. In 2016, she was honored to be included in the 19th class of Gambit’s 40 Under 40, which salutes the brightest innovators, artists, and professionals in New Orleans.
